Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Item upgrades allow players to increase the item level of items that can be equipped, such as weapons or armor, as well trinkets above a certain threshold. You can upgrade items at any NPC that accepts the appropriate currency.

Another option is to create a script that checks the upgrade requirements of an item before allowing it to be upgraded.
